Loneliest Loneliness

What if a demon were to creep after you one night, in your loneliest loneliness, and say, 'This life which you live must be lived by you once again and innumerable times more; and every pain and joy and thought and sigh must come again to you, all in the same sequence. The eternal hourglass will again and again be turned and you with it, dust of the dust!' Would you throw yourself down and gnash your teeth and curse that demon? Or would you answer, 'Never have I heard anything more divine'?”

Love

"Love, unrequited, robs me of my rest: Love, hopeless love, my ardent soul encumbers: Love, nightmare-like, lies heavy on my chest, And weaves itself into my midnight slumbers! "
William S. Gilbert
I took this photo in Tinton Falls not far from the recent beheading of a male swan. A reward is offered for any information. This lone swan made it's way slowly and sadly to me and broke my heart. Swans mate for life and this one to be alone is odd. I only hope the one killed wasn't this ones mate.
Not a happy Valentine's Day post I know. Sorry.
