The Flames of Hope

I'm sorry, it's been brutally hot here and I just haven't picked up the camera. This is a photo from Notre Dame I took on a trip to Paris this past March.
An ironic quote to put for candles at Notre Dame, but one I agree with totally.

but if a man learned how to be sympathetic and got an education and also found good social ties through his religion, what's wrong with that?

The problem is that education within the church is biased and has many myths that are taught as truths, such as Noah and the Tower of Babels stories. Those biblical stories are actually in HISTORY books in Christian schools. The whole teachings concerning hell and our damnation is not necessary. A person doesn't need to be taught right from wrong with the threat of hell lingering over him. To be treat others as you would like to be treated is not a Christian Rule, it is much older.
